The world of plants continues to evolve in creative ways, and the fusion of nature and design has never been more perfect. Nature as a design element becomes universal. New trends breathe new life into interior spaces, and now we can create personal sanctuaries that inspire and energize us.

  1. Vertical gardens and green walls have been popular for a while now, and they’re not going away anytime soon

These structures provide a visual connection to nature, improve air quality, absorb noise and even help regulate temperature. In 2024, we can expect to see more creative ways to incorporate green walls into various spaces such as office buildings, hotels and even homes. The vertical arrangement of plants saves space, and modern vertical planting systems allow you to place up to 30 plants on 1 square meter of green wall.

  1. Multisensory spaces

When it comes to biophilic design, engaging all the senses is essential. In 2024, we can expect to see more spaces incorporating textured surfaces that mimic the feel of bark or the softness of moss, alongside auditory elements such as water features and plants that provide sensory experiences such as texture and scent.

  1. Biophilic lighting

Just as natural lighting is vital to our mental and physical health, biophilic lighting will become one of the most important trends in 2024. Designers and architects will maximise natural light in interior spaces with large windows, skylights and light sources. But it won’t stop there. Mirrors and reflective surfaces will help spread natural light into every corner. We will also see circadian lighting that mimics natural sunlight and lighting fixtures that incorporate living plants.

  1. Natural textures and minimalism:

Designers prefer pots with simple shapes, clean lines and no decorations. Natural materials – ceramic, stone, wood, clay – emphasize plants as natural works of art.

5. Tall plants with large leaves such as Strelitzia Nicolai, Ficus Lyrata and large varieties of Ficus can by themselves create the feeling of green space, making it look like a tropical jungle. In an open minimalist interior, they create a striking accent and give a feeling of free space.

6. Color accents: Plants with gold, neon, cream or pink leaves that contrast with the basic green are a delight to the eye and are increasingly found in interior design projects.

7. Fascination for rare and unusual plant varieties is growing. People are looking for unique and visually stunning plants like Philodendron Pink Princess, Philodendron White Princess or Monstera Thai Constellation.
8. Plants that do not need soil: Epiphytic plants that live in nature on the trunks of tall trees are placed indoors on wooden boards and cork, bark, and moss supports. Such exotic rainforest dwellers as atmospheric tillandsia and Staghorn fern are making a splash in 2024.
