One of the most impressive climbing species that you can easily plant in your garden, always surprising with its aesthetic appeal, even in winter! Ivy is a common climbing and trailing plant originating from Europe and Western Asia. It has long, flexible stems that allow it to creep and climb easily over large surfaces. It can cover a wall or be successfully used to decorate the garden, fence, or interior of the house.
In late summer, it produces small yellow-green flowers and fruits, though these are not edible. It is easy to plant in all seasons (except when the ground is frozen). It grows slower in its early years but once mature, it spreads rapidly, covering entire buildings. Ivy requires no special care and is quite resistant to various environmental conditions, diseases or pests. It likes sunlight but prefers not to be exposed to direct light. When planted directly in the ground, it will survive through winter.

Licuala Grandis, the ruffled fan palm, is native to Vanuatu, a small island nation in the Pacific. The fans on this unusual and exquisite palm are highly valued since they unfold like a classic fan that you may use to stay cool on a hot day. While it requires minimal care, its rarity and unique appearance make it highly sought-after among plant collectors. It’s wind-resistant, and it looks great on patios and balconies as well as hallways, bedrooms and conference rooms.
Trimming is unnecessary, but feel free to remove dry leaves as needed. The plant shows strong resistance to common pests and diseases, benefiting from good ventilation and avoiding sudden temperature changes. Regular weekly spraying helps prevent leaf browning.

Because it rarely grows over three metres, this species is known as the dwarf Cavendish. Although it doesn’t grow as tall as the houseplant, it is still a very large plant. Its leaves are huge, so it’s good for homes with lots of space.
It likes bright light and can tolerate some direct sunlight during the day. Its soil should be allowed to dry out a little between waterings, but you should still mist it frequently as its huge leaves need a lot of moisture. You can help it grow healthily by feeding it once a month in spring and summer with liquid fertiliser.
Please note that despite its name, this banana tree won’t bear fruit.
